Akash Chopra is of the opinion that RCB can retain four players for IPL 2022

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 mega auction will be held, which franchise team will retain which players and the debate has already begun. Former Team India cricketer and defending star Hindi commentator Akash Chopra has said that Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) can retain four players and use two right-to-match (RTM) cards. Akash Chopra has added Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers to the list of the four remaining players, but the other two names are somewhat surprising. If Akash Chopra wins over two experienced players, he has chosen a cricketer who has not played much for the RCB.

He said, ‘After Virat and ABD, I will select Yujvendra Chahal and Devadut Padikkal for third place. Truth be told, I want to keep three Indian players. Virat Kohli, Yuzvendra Chahal and Devadat Padikkal and AB de Villiers as an overseas player. This way you can save up to four players in the RCB. In addition, RCB will look to bring back Kyle Jamison and Glenn Maxwell via RTB. They have done well in IPL 2021 so far and have been instrumental in elevating the RCB to a dominant position in the point table.

Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals are two such teams, with four such players, and Akash Chopra feels that the franchise team definitely wants to keep up. As for RCB, Virat Kohli will definitely be the team’s first choice and AB de Villiers will be second. If the RCB gets a place in the playoffs in the 2020 IPL, the team has performed well in the first round this year.
