The India Test team, led by Virat Kohli, is currently preparing for a five-Test series against England. The final of the ICC World Test Championship ended on June 23, and Team India was on a leisurely stint in England. On July 15-16, all players gathered in Durham. Bowling coach Bharat Arun has joined Team India after being in self-isolation for a few days. Talking about this Test series against England, Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar and Awesh Khan are out of the series due to injury. Abhimanyu Eshwaran has been added to the main squad as a back-up and Prithvi Shah and Suryakumar Yadav will be sent to England as replacements.

After a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, Suryakumar Yadav and Prithvi Shah are currently part of the Indian limited team in Sri Lanka. Shah and Suryakumar will travel to Sri Lanka directly from Sri Lanka.
