Babar Azam dismissed Virat Kohli for number one

India captain Virat Kohli lost to Pakistani captain Babar Azam on Wednesday in the ICC Batsman rankings. In the one-day series against South Africa at Centurion, the 26-year-old Babur scored 94 from 82 balls to help him achieve 13 rental points and reach 865 points. Kohli has been at the top of the rankings of batsmen for 1,258 days, more than three years. Babur’s former cricketer Wasim Jaffer has made significant advise on this achievement.

Before the series against South Africa, Babur had 837 rating points, but scored 858 (more than Kohli) by scoring 103 in the first match. In the second ODI, he scored 32 points and dropped to 852 in last week’s ranking.

Babar finished fifth best in the Test and currently sits sixth, he is third in T20 International but he is number one. Left-hand opener Fakhar Zaman is another Pakistani batsman who has topped the ODI batsmen’s rankings. He jumped five places from his 101 innings to take his career-best seventh place.
