Ban vs. SL: Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka in second ODI, making history with a winning series

Bangladesh won the ODI series by beating Sri Lanka by 103 runs on the Duckworth-Lewis rules in a match played at the Sher-A-Bangla National Stadium on Tuesday. With that, Bangladesh have taken a 2–0 lead in the three-match series. Batting first, Bangladesh scored 246 runs. Chasing a target, Sri Lanka were only able to score 141 for 9. With this, Bangladesh made history for the first time in Sri Lanka in the ODI series.

Bangladesh had failed to beat Sri Lanka in any bilateral series before. Mushfiqur Rahim scored an unbeaten 84 in Bangladesh’s last over and scored 125 in the second ODI. He scored the seventh century of his career. Mahamudullah also scored 41 runs. Symptem Sandhan and Dushmantha Chameera took three wickets each. No Sri Lankan team came out to chase the target. Sri Lanka were bowled out for 119 in 2 overs when the match started again after the rain.

Danushka Gunatilake scored 24 runs for Sri Lanka. Bangladesh’s Henna Hassan and Mustafizur Rahman took 3-3. Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka by 33 runs in the first match of the three-match one-day series between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. In the first ODI, Bangladesh scored 257 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Sri Lanka were all out for 224 in 48.1 overs. The third game of the series will take place on May 28.
