The Sydney Sixers have won the Big Bash League’s 10th season. In the final, Sydney beat Perth Scorchers by 27 runs and won the trophy for the second consecutive year. Batting first, Sydney scored 188 runs for the loss of 6 wickets thanks to a fantastic innings of 95 runs from James Vince’s 20 overs. In response, the Perth Scorchers were able to score only 161 after losing 9 wickets.

After winning the toss, the Perth Scorchers asked Sydney to bat. The Sydney side did not have a good start and Joseph Philippe (9) was run out in a disastrous manner. Team captain Moises Henriques was unable to show off the bat as well and Andrew Tye fell for 18. Sydney’s team repeatedly lost wickets, but Vince remained on one end and continued to run fast. James Vince scored 95 off 60 balls, hitting 10 fours and three long sixes. Vince had previously scored 98 against Perth in qualifying.

The Perth Scorchers got off to a decent start and Bencroft (30) and Livingstone (45) added 45 for the first wicket. However, after these two were dismissed, Perth lost consecutive wickets. Captain Ashton Turner was also unable to perform with the bat and was dismissed by 11 runs. Michelle Marsh also scored just 11 runs. The Sydney Sixers have won the Big Bash for the second consecutive year. Overall, the Sydney team has won the trophy three times.
