Speaking to ANI, the BCCI official said, “Fast bowler Bumrah is getting married soon and for his preparations, he has decided to move back from the middle of the Test series.” He told the board that he was going to get married and he needed some time to prepare for this big day. Bumrah played the first match of the Test series against England and rested in the second Test. He replaced fast bowler Mohammad Siraj in the second Test.

In the third Test, Bumrah was placed on the playing XI but was unable to bowl as spinners R Ashwin and Akshar Patel were not allowed to play for England batsmen. Team India won the match by 10 wickets in two days and took a 2-1 lead in the series. The last match between the two teams will be played at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. This match needs a win or a draw to secure India a place in the final of the World Test Championships.
