Big success for Xiaomi, leaving Samsung and Apple

According to a Counterpoint Research report, sales of Xiaomi increased by 26 per cent in June 2021 compared to its previous month. Xiaomi’s market share in global smartphone sales rose to 17.1 per cent. At the same time, Samsung’s market share was 15.7 percent, while Apple’s market share was 14.3 percent. According to a counterpoint report, Xiaomi was the 2nd brand in terms of smartphone sales worldwide in the second quarter.

Samsung’s smartphone production has been affected
Analysts at Counterpoint say the trend may be temporary. Samsung’s production was affected in June due to an increase in Covid-19 cases in Vietnam. This is due to the lack of devices for Samsung. Samsung expects production to return to normal soon. Xiaomi sold its first smartphone in 2011. Xiaomi has sold more than 800 million smartphones worldwide. Xiaomi ranks No. 1 in India, the fastest growing smartphone market in the world. However, most of Xiaomi’s smartphones are now in the mass market. Xiaomi is now trying to enter the top-level segment. Currently, this segment is dominated by Samsung and Apple.
