Cheteshwar Pujara, who returns after nearly seven years, will play for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2021. There is a lot of debate these days about whether Pujara, known as a Test specialist batsman, can improve his technique and strike rate in T20 cricket. Former Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has doubts about Pujara’s strike rate as to whether he can succeed in Test cricket in the Indian Premier League. Lee said it was not a T20 cricket test and the innings here would end in just 90 minutes.

Speaking to ‘SportsAddah’, Brett Lee said, ‘You can see it in two ways. First of all, he is a fantastic cricketer, no doubt. There is no doubt about his technique and patience when batting. But, if you look at other things, you have to think that it’s not Test cricket, it’s T20. 20 overs in 90 minutes. You need to run as fast as you can. Will he be able to do this when under pressure? Maybe he can. We recently saw the time in the Australia series, and then it was an interesting call. I’m a big fan of Pujara, I think he has a lot to offer. But, it remains to be seen whether he can do it in this format or not.

Pujara has said that he will try to do better in IPL 2021, depending on the timing of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. Pujara played his last IPL in 2014.
