Increasing budget expenditures on women’s health will develop a healthy population that will have greater productivity. This is directly related to long-term productivity. Providing great amenities before, during and after family planning can bring positive benefits to many generations to come in the long run. Only 1.29 per cent of the budget is spent on health in India. There is a need to increase budget allocation in this area. The need for better access to hospitals, timely remuneration for doctors, and access to community health centers is essential.

Women need to increase their participation in labor

In urban areas, the participation of women in the labor force over the age of 20 decreases rapidly. Due to maternity and family responsibilities, these women quit pre-income activities. Government-sponsored maternity leave benefits are only available to women employed in organized sectors. Similarly, women who work under MGNREGA are provided with child care-related facilities in the workplace, but in reality this does not apply anywhere on the ground. At the same time it also affects the health of children. The situation of women in private areas is similar. Many companies do not want to hire women for this reason. Many women leave the labor force because they do not get paid maternity leave. This has a direct impact on the economy. If the central government brings in a parental leave policy, for this reason, many talented women will remain in the labor force and they will not have to quit their jobs to become a mother. The number of crimes against women in India is not hidden from anyone. According to the National Crime Records Bureau, crimes against women increased by 7.3 per cent from 2018 to 2018. Many women are unable to enter the labor force for fear of being the victim of this violence. Because of this fear, many women do not enter the office far from their homes. The inability to work at night is the result of this violence. Therefore, long-term changes can be brought about by budgetary allocation for the safety of women.
