The CBI has on Sunday rejected a CBI report on the disappearance of 100 kg gold in Tamil Nadu and a list has been prepared by a search at Surana Corporation Limited, NSC Bose Road, Chennai. 400.47kg of gold was seized on this list and it is mentioned that it was placed in the chest of Surana. It was sealed in the presence of independent witnesses and the MD of Surana Corporation and its officials.
In a clarification released on Sunday, the investigating agency said it would hand over the checks to the valid High Court, Official Liquidator, six banks and independent witnesses, and to 27/02/2020 to 29/02/2020. It was done. The seals found in the vaults of Surana Corporation’s lender bank have been found intact. However, the weight of gold is only 296.66 kg. In connection with the difference between the volume and weight described in the search memorandum, the CBI immediately ordered an internal investigation by a senior official to investigate the role of its officers.
It has been made clear that the recovered gold is not kept in the CBI docks. Instead it was just under the seal in the premises of the sura. An application was filed in the High Court in this regard and the High Court has ordered the same on 11.12.2020. An internal investigation of the CBI is ongoing and if any adverse role of any CBI officer is found, strict action will be taken against them.
