The corona vaccine may not yet have arrived, but India is in the forefront of countries ordering the vaccine. This is stated in the Vaccine Release and Scale Speedometer report. As such, India has pre-ordered about 160 crore doses for the corona vaccine. It benefits 80 crore people, which means about 60 percent of the population gets the vaccine. However, it is not enough to develop herd immunity. According to the analysis, India has signed 160 million doses in three vaccines by November 30. At the same time, since then, the European Union has signed more than 158 crore contracts and more than 100 billion contracts for the US.
By what dose
According to Duke University in the US, India has signed an agreement with Oxford University-AstraZeneca to buy the CovShield vaccine for about 500 million. At the same time, the American company Novavax 100 crore and the Russian Gamalaya Research Institute will receive the 100 million dose Sputnik-V vaccine. Indian companies are also involved in vaccine preparation.
Smaller countries issue larger orders
Many countries reserve pre-orders for vaccines beyond their population. According to one estimate, Canada has 527 percent more vaccines than its population. The UK has already placed 288 for the vaccine, 266 for Australia, 223 for Chile, 199 per cent for the European Union and 169 for the US and 115 per cent for Japan. The reason behind this is that even if the vaccine fails and is not allowed for any reason, the country’s population will not be deprived of the vaccine.

A poor country dependent on WHO
About 390 million doses have been booked from high-income countries, according to a Duke University report. Middle-income countries have signed agreements to achieve 100 crores, and low-income countries have about 170 crores. According to researchers, low-income or poor countries have not signed any agreement directly. That is, 20 percent of the world’s population is totally dependent on Kovacs. In fact, Kovacs Gavi, an organized group of the World Health Organization and CEPI, aims to expand it to those who cannot afford the vaccine.
The World Health Organization is worried
The World Health Organization is concerned that major countries are pre-vaccinating the vaccine. According to the head of the organization, Tedros Jebrese, only a select few wealthy countries should not treat or vaccinate Kovid-19. He called for all countries to work together and that some people should be vaccinated in all countries, not all people in some countries.
