All-rounder Cameron Green has been included in Cricket Australia (CA) for the first time in the deal, but big names such as Matthew Wade and Travis Head are not included in the list of 17 players announced on Friday. Green is the newcomer to the list, scoring 236 runs at 33.71 in four Tests against India. The list includes the top 20 players but only 17 players have been contracted for the upcoming forwards.
With the exception of head and wicketkeeper batsman Wade, opener Joe Burns, all-rounder Mitchell Marsh and Marcus Stoinis are not included in the 2021-22 contract. By the end of this season, Australia will play the T20 World Cup in India and the domestic Ashes series.
