Cyclone Tauktae Live Updates Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts. – Four people have been killed and 318 people have been evacuated after reports of heavy rainfall in the coastal and Malnad areas of Karnataka on Saturday due to Cyclone Tauktae. The cyclone was devastated, with high tidal waves and winds and affected 73 villages, especially in the sea-front areas of Udupi, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada districts. Eleven relief camps have been opened in the state – five each in Uttara Kannada and Dakshina Kannada districts, and one in Udupi.

Four deaths have been reported in Uttara Kannada, Udupi, Shimoga and Chikmagalur districts. The deaths were due to accidental accidents – lightning in Shimoga, electric accident in Udupi and house collapse in Chikmagalur. In Uttar Kannada, another fisherman who was trying to build his boat collided with another boat and died.
