The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) today decided to close the Red Fort and Jama Masjid metro stations due to security concerns following a farmers’ dispute on January 26. The entrance and exit gates of the Red Fort Metro Station remain closed, while the entrance to the Jama Masjid Metro Station is closed, although the exit gate is open to commuters. The DMRC provided this information in a tweet Thursday morning.
Earlier Wednesday, the Lal Kila and Jama Masjid metro stations were closed for security reasons throughout the day. The entrance and exit gates of the Lal Kila metro station were closed on Wednesday. Also, the entrance to the Jama Masjid metro station was closed.

Notably, nearly 50 stations in the Delhi Metro were forced to close on Tuesday due to a demonstration at a farmers tractor rally in Delhi. Passengers had to bear the burden. However, operations at all metro stations were normalized again at 8 pm.
The green and gray lines had to be completed
The Interlock / Kirti City and Brig Hoshiar Singh Metro Station on the Green Line and all the Metro stations from Dwarka to Najafgarh on the Gray Line were closed. The closure of stations along the route also affected Metro services. However, the opening began with the closure of the clearance gate of the Lalkila Metro station on the Violet route. Hours later, the entrance was closed.
