Credit rating agency Iqra today estimated the number of passengers in June at 29-30 lakh, up 41-42 per cent from around 19.8 lakh in May. Airlines increased the number of seats available in June by 14-15 per cent compared to May. Seating capacity was up 46 percent compared to June last year.
Iqra Vice President Kinjal Shah said, “On an average, 1,100 flights depart daily every day in June 2021. The number was 700 in June last year and 900 in May this year. The number rose to 94. In June, demand in the aviation sector improved slightly, he said.
