It will soon fulfill the dream of becoming a teacher for hundreds of waiting list candidates. The bench, headed by Justice LN Reddy, President of the Tribunal, has received an affidavit filed by the DSSSB. Rejection applications filed by successful candidates on the waiting list for recruitment have also been disposed of. The DSSSB told the tribunal that the waiting list validity has been extended to December 31, 2020 instead of May 31, 2020. The affidavit was filed in the DSSSB tribunal in response to a petition filed by lawyer Anuj Agarwal on behalf of waiting list candidate Reena Dahiya and others. Advocate Agarwal told the court that the October 2020 order had not been followed. In this order, the Tribunal refused to extend the validity of the waiting list, but the Department of Consumer Affairs (Directorate of Education and Municipal Corporation) asked the DSSSB if it wanted to appoint candidates to the waiting list even after the stipulated time. Take Action Steps No action has been taken to comply with the DSSSB order at the request of the user department, lawyer Anuj Agarwal told the court.
It’s one thing
In 2017 and 2018, the DSSSB hired a large number of teachers to government and corporation schools. The DSSSB released a list of select candidates and a list of successful candidates added to the waiting list in 2019, announcing the result of the recruitment process. After reviewing the documents, the DSSSB sends the selected candidates’ documentation to the Directorate of Education and the city administration for recruitment. The validity of the waiting list is valid for one year, i.e. until May 31, 2020.
No recruitment found
In his petition before the tribunal, lawyer Agarwal said that even though the seats were vacant, the DSSSB did not appoint candidates on the waiting list. He said the DSSSB was also closed due to the lockdown in March 2020 due to the corona pandemic. However, the request did not extend the waiting list period. Meanwhile, the Directorate of Education and the Metropolitan Administration returned to the DSSSB a list of unauthorized candidates. Due to this, the seats remain vacant but the DSSSB did not send the candidates’ list to the Directorate of Education and the city administration for recruitment, Agarwal said.
450 positions in government schools
Around 670 teachers in government and municipal schools have been withdrawn, ie, the number of vacancies, said lawyer Anuj Aggarwal. There are about 450 seats in government schools and 220 seats in municipal schools. These posts will be recruited by waiting list candidates.
