England cricket team members, including captain Joe Root, reached Chennai on Wednesday for the first two Tests of the four-Test series against India. A video of the players reaching out here was shared by the England Cricket Board’s Twitter account. In addition, some Indian players and support staff have also reached the spot. Root and his team arrived from Sri Lanka at 10.30 am and headed straight to the hotel, where the Corona protocol was done for both teams.
England defeated Sri Lanka 3–0 in the Test series. India’s star batsman Rohit Sharma and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane arrived here last night while Cheteshwar Pujara, Jaspreet Bumrah and Rishabh Pant arrived here this morning. Team coach Ravi Shastri came here from Mumbai. Apart from this, Virat Kohli has also reached.

Both teams remain at the Hotel Leela Palace, where the Bio Bubble was created. The teams will begin practice from Feb. 2 after a six-day hard quarantine, with teams also having a corona test. The first Test will be held from February 5 and the second Test from February 13.

After the Test series, the T20 series between the two teams will start from March 12. All these matches will be played at Sardar Patel Stadium. T20 matches will be held on March 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20. The Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune is set to become a bio-bubble for the ODI series. The three-match ODI series will take place on March 23, 26 and 28 at the stadium.
