Thanks to Kangana Ranaut and her sister Rangoli Chandel for their controversial tweets and objectionable remarks. Mumbai Police on Friday ordered an FIR against the Manikarnika actress and her sister on the basis that Bandra Metropolitan Magistrate Jayadev Y Gule has tried to create hate and communal tension through his tweets.
IPC Sections 153A (Promoting Enmity), 295A (Malicious acts intended to provoke religious sentiment), 124A (Treason) against the actor and his sister, Ravish Zamindar, said.
The complaint alleges that the actor has been blaming Bollywood for the past two months with a “hub of nepotism”, “favoritism” through his tweets and television interviews. In the complaint, Ranaut tweeted “very objectionable” comments, which hurt not only his religious feelings but also the feelings of many artists.
Syed is accused of trying to divide the Ranaut artists into a communal category. “Her sister has also issued objectionable remarks on social media to spread communal tension between the two religious groups,” the complaint said.
After reviewing the records and the submission of the lawyer, the court found that the “cognitive offense” had been committed by the accused. It directed the police station to initiate necessary action and investigation against the actor and her sister under the provisions of the Criminal Procedure Code (CRPC).
“The total charges are based on comments made in electronic media- Twitter and interviews and require a thorough investigation by experts,” the court said.
