Former India cricketer Ashok Dinda joins BJP to launch political innings

The entry of cricketers into the politics of West Bengal has also begun. Former Indian cricketer Ashok Dinda joined the BJP just hours after Manoj Tiwari joined the TMC. He became part of the party at a rally in Kolkata on Wednesday. Union minister Babul Supriyo and BJP state vice president Arjun Singh got party membership. Recently, Ashok Dinda announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Ashok Dinda has played 13 ODIs and 9 T20s for Team India. He had 12 wickets in ODIs and 17 wickets in T20.

Shortly before the assembly elections, BJP’s Ashok Dinda may contest the party. However, it is yet to be decided which position he will be removed from. One reason to keep them in the election is that the party wants to regain their celebrity status and win their own seat. Ashok Dinda thanked the BJP leadership by tweeting. Ashok Dinda wrote, ‘I am very happy and I am grateful to the BJP leadership for allowing me to do public service. I would like to thank PM Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and the Sovendu officer for this. Dada and his whole team put their trust in us. ‘

Elections may be held in the state during April-May. The current term of the state assembly ends May 30. The BJP put all its energy into the campaign before the election. The BJP has taken conversion trips in all 294 assembly seats in the state. Let me tell you that cricketer Manoj Tiwari also joined TMC on Wednesday at CM Mamata Banerjee’s rally in Hooghly. Manoj Tiwari had previously attacked all dignitaries and cricketers during a Twitter discussion on the peasant movement. There are indications that he may enter state politics through the TMC.
