Former India spinner Laxman Sivaramakrishnan says how India will benefit from Hardik Pandya’s bowling in T20 World Cup

Former India spinner and cricket commentator Laxman Sivaramakrishnan said the selectors may struggle to select a team for the limited-overs series against Sri Lanka. India has appointed Shikhar Dhawan as the captain for the tour of Sri Lanka. He said India had many options to select a team in the T20 World Cup. The Indian think tank has been successful in recruiting young talent from the Indian Premier League. He also said that if Hardik Pandya bowls, India has plenty of options before the T20 World Cup.

At a press conference organized by Sony Network, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan said that the IPL is a kind of international game. That is why people believe that there is not much difference between playing IPL and international cricket. So I think this is great for Indian cricket and it is a tough choice for the selectors, who to choose and whom to not. Once they have a really good combination, I’m sure they’ll come out the best.

Looking at Team India at the T20 World Cup, he said, “There are plenty of options for India if Hardik Pandya starts bowling for Team India. Pandya was used as the leading batsman in the last White-Ball series. Pandya, who plays for Mumbai Indians, has successfully played the role of finisher in a series against Australia and England. Led by Shikhar Dhawan, Team India will play a series of three one-day and three T20 matches against Sri Lanka. The series will start from July 18.
