The Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund (MF) has returned Rs 21,000 crore to subscribers of six passive lending schemes so far. This amount is 84 percent under Company Management (AUM) as of April 23, 2020. On the same day, the company announced the closure of its six debt mutual fund plans. The company announced plans to close the project due to lack of market pressure and liquidity.

In addition, Sanjay Sapre, president of Franklin Templeton Asset Management (India) Pvt Ltd, said in a letter to investors, “There is 1,111 crore cash available for distribution till July 31 this year.”

The Franklin India Short Term Fund, Franklin India Dynamic Accrual Fund, Franklin India Credit Risk Fund, Franklin India Short Term Income Plan, Franklin India Ultra Short Bond Fund, and Franklin India Revenue Opportunity Fund – together held assets under Rs 25,000 crore.
