Glenn Maxwell was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 for Rs 14.25 crore. Maxwell played for Punjab Kings in the last IPL and he was very disappointed with his performance. Maxwell did not get a six off the bat last season. Earlier this season, Maxwell played two matches for RCB and scored a total of 98 runs, including a 59-run winning innings against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 14. Since these innings, a lot of funny memes about Glenn Maxwell have been shared on social media.

Maxwell played a quickfire 59 off 41 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad, during which he hit five fours and three sixes. He scored 39 off 28 balls in the opening match of the IPL 2021 against the Mumbai Indians. Maxwell had three boundaries and two sixes in that match. He has hit five sixes so far this season. Maxwell’s performance in the IPL is not very special, which is why he has not been able to play for any franchise.

Speaking of the match, Sunrisers Hyderabad invited RCB to bat first after winning the toss. RCB scored 149 for eight in 20 overs, despite David Warner’s half-century in the north, Sunrisers Hyderabad were able to score 143 for 9 in 20 overs. The RCB won the match by six runs.
