Goa court files FIR against judicial abuse case

PANAJI: The Goa government on Tuesday filed a judicial abuse case against Karnataka in the Supreme Court over the Mahadai River diversion project.

“Karnataka has been in a hurry over the implementation of the scheme. The case of the river diversion project is under judicial scrutiny as the case is still under trial.

Karnataka has undertaken the Mahadai River Diversion Project without obtaining official permission. This project, which has a fatal impact on the river diversity of river flow, must be stopped immediately. Pramod Sawant has demanded that no construction work be conducted before the court’s final decision.

The Interstate Water Dispute Tribunal has released water in 2018 in connection with the Mahdi River Water Sharing. The board had allotted water shares in Maharashtra, Karnataka and Goa. But the three states that disagreed with this have challenged the Supreme Court. “This time, the Supreme Court has filed a petition against Karnataka over several documents, including video. We will continue to fight for the protection of our rights, ”Sawant said.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena Tong has been targeting the BJP in the case. “The BJP is ruling in both the states which are in conflict with each other. The blunder was done by their party leaders. Let them be summoned by the nobles.
