Good News Railway has given the green signal to build a cargo terminal at Baijnathpur in Saharsa district of Bihar. DCM Prasanna Kumar of Samastipur Division has directed a team of four members to arrive at the Goods Terminal Survey in Baijnathpur on Saturday to review the location of the goods terminal. DCM says Baijnathpur is the ideal location for the goods terminal from every perspective. This railway station is connected to all three places in Saharsa, Madhepura and Supal districts. Merchants will be able to take the goods that are dropped off at the Goods Terminal, via NH to their destination.

At the same time, construction materials used on the NH road that are being built will be able to be imported and unloaded by rail. The divisional commerce manager said the goods terminal would be built in PPP mode in Baijnathpur. Tenders will be flown in ten to fifteen days to build the goods terminal from PPP mode. The selection process will be completed on a tender basis as per Railway Guidelines. The goods shed will be built 15 meters wide and 710 meters long, where goods will be loaded from the freight train, he said.
