Google has brought out premium updates for Gmail users, a retaliatory chat style

Google is rolling out a new update to its popular email service Gmail. In the update, the company is offering many new features. The highlight of the update is that now Android and iOS users will be able to chat with their friends and family directly from the Gmail app. Initially the company offered this chat option only to users with a premium workspace account, but users who now use Gmail’s free service can enjoy this feature.

Google has not released this update of Gmail globally. However, the company is now spreading it to more and more users in batches. According to a 9to5 Google report, the iOS version of the update has reached a lot of iPhone users so far. It is hoped that this feature will be made available to Indian users soon.

What’s in the update?
In the update, the company is offering chat and rooms in the Gmail app so users can instant messaging directly from the Gmail window. The advantage is that now users don’t have to create a complete email to send a message. After updating the Gmail app, all Gmail contacts of the user will automatically start appearing in the chat window.

After updating the app on the smartphone, all the new tab users start to show up on the phone’s screen. There are four sections, including Mail, Google Meat, and the new Chat and Rooms interface. In that case, if the user wants to connect or chat with friends, they can send an instant message by tapping on the chat tab directly. Users need to tap the tab for rooms. The specialty of rooms is that it can be connected to more than one connection and it also has the option of sharing files and documents.

How to Activate
If this update notification comes to your device, you can enable this feature manually. To turn on this feature on iOS and Android, tap on the side menu and go to the settings option below. Here you will find the ‘Chat (Initial Access)’ option in the General section where you need to turn on with the help of the toggle button. To use this chat feature, restart the app once.
