Rohini Hulamani (21) and Rajashree Bannara (21) were killed in an air raid in Lakshmi city of Machae. Police have arrested five accused in the case. Investigation confirms that the conspiracy and immorality of another woman was the main reason behind the double murder of women.

The arrested have been identified as Kalpana Mallesh (35) of Kalyanatti village, Mahesh Monappa Nayika (20) of Surat village, Rahul Maruti Patil (19) of Belugundi village, Rohit Waddara (21) of Ganapur and Shanura Bannaara (18) of Kalyanatti.

There was an immoral relationship between Kalpana and the deceased Rohini’s husband Gangappa Hulamani before the marriage. Gangappa, who was away from Kalpana, got married to Rohini. Rohini was also five months pregnant. Before the marriage, Kalpana had developed an illicit affair with financial support for Gangappa, police said.

After the Rohini’s wedding, Gangappa left the village and came to the village of Machche. It is not possible for the accused Kalpana to abstain from this. Gangappa is accused of returning the money previously paid. Kalpana, who is determined to pursue a relationship with Gangappa, conspired to murder Rohini. Mahesh, the son of his sister, has also given it to Saath. Mahesh had allegedly plotted the murder by telling relatives.

At about 4 pm on the evening of September 26, a pregnant Rohini was sitting with her friend Jyoti at the Lakshminagar in Machu. Then four people on the bike splashed the powder on the eyes of the first two. Rohini has been murdered before. But Rajashree Bannara was assassinated to destroy evidence. The Belgaum rural police have registered the case and have jailed the accused for a week. However, the Belgaum DCP said that the premarital relationship between Gangappa and Kalpana had led to the murder of the couple.
