Humble One Solar Power Electric SUV: California startup company Humble Motors has introduced its new solar powered electric vehicle concept. In terms of design and body type, it is described as the world’s first solar powered vehicle. The company claims the SUV will charge the battery in sunlight and provide better driving range.
However, its design is largely similar to the crossover model. A total of 80 square feet of solar panels are installed on its roof and windows. It charges the battery pack in the vehicle from sunlight. It is said that this SUV can be powered by a solar panel only, giving it a driving range of up to 96 kilometers per day.
Strong driving range:
The company has tried to keep the Humble One’s weight to a minimum, thus giving it better driving range. The total weight of this crossover SUV is 1,814 kg, which is about 348 kg lighter than the Tesla Model S. With an internal battery, this SUV delivers a range of up to 800 km on a single charge. Also, the pickup of this SUV is even better than the Tesla.
The four-door SUV has 80 square feet of photovoltaic solar cells with a seating capacity of five people. It measures 198 inches long, most similar to Tesla’s Model X. However, it is much lighter in weight. The electric motor delivers power up to 1,020 hp and its top speed is said to be 260 kmph. Furthermore, this SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.5 seconds.
What’s the price:
But Humble Motor has yet to share any information about the technology used in this SUV. But this SUV proves to be a great option for everyday commuting. However, it’s hard to say anything about its price before launch. Experts believe the price will be US $ 1,09,000. Its booking has begun and delivery will begin by 2024.
