IG statement on Nagrota encounter – terrorists killed in attack, weapons seized

Security forces today launched a major terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir. Four militants were killed in an encounter this morning. During the Nagrota encounter in Jammu, IG Mukesh Singh of Jammu region claimed that the truck driver had escaped and we were looking for him. He was planning a big attack. Let us tell you that four suspected Jaish-e-Mohammed militants were assassinated by security forces on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway in the outskirts of Jammu early Thursday morning. Jammu IGP Mukesh Singh said the assassinated terrorists were carrying heavy weapons and ammunition for the purpose of carrying out a major event. The encounter began after security forces stopped a militant vehicle near the Bon Toll Plaza in Nagrota.

Earlier, CRPF spokesman Shivanandan Singh compared the encounter to January 31. The militant group opened fire on the joint team of police and CRPF’s Bain Toll Plaza. He probably came in the vehicle.
