In U Rangabad, Uddhav Thackeray said – u Rangajeb was not secular, did not fit the secular agenda

For the first time, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray broke his silence on the proposal to rename Maharashtra u Rangabad as Sambhajanagar. U Rangajab is not secular and therefore does not fit the secular agenda, Uddhav Thackeray said on Friday. Please state that the Congress party opposed the proposal to rename U Rangabad as Sambhajnagar. However, the Shiv Sena has said it will not affect the three-party Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government.

A few days after the Congress criticized him, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Friday questioned whether using the name of Tripathi Sambhaji Maharaj in government documents is a crime. Sambhaji hat is the eldest son of Tripathi Shivaji. Maharashtra government minister and head of the Congress state unit, Balasahab Tarot, has made it clear that his party is vehemently opposed to the move to rename the party Rangabad.

In a tweet about the cabinet decisions two days ago, the CMO approved the creation of an additional 165 beds and 360 new posts at the Government Medical College, Sambhajnagar (u Rangabad). When challenged by Congress’ statement that cities should not be renamed as part of the MVA Government’s Common Minimum Program (CMP) agenda, Routh said the CMP was to ensure the welfare of the people. He said CMP does not say that people should not listen.

It is noteworthy that two decades ago the Shiv Sena insisted on changing the name of Rangabad to Sambhajinagar. In this regard, in June 1995, the resolution was passed at the general meeting of the U Rangabad Municipal Corporation, which was challenged by the Congress Counselor in the High Court and later in the Supreme Court.
