IND vs. SL: Shikhar Dhawan hints at Surya Kumar Yadav’s one-day debut

India captain Shikhar Dhawan said on Sunday that India will be teaming up for the first ODI against Sri Lanka on Sunday. Shikhar Dhawan has suggested that Suryakumar Yadav will make his debut in the one-day match tomorrow. He said he was a good player and a great touch. Surya Kumar has been playing for Mumbai in the IPL for many years. He made his T20 debut against England this year and is now gearing up to make his ODI debut.

Speaking about his first ODI against Sri Lanka in a virtual press conference, Dhawan said, “Suryakumar Yadav is a great player. He has performed well in domestic and international matches. I am sure he is very talented. He has scored 480 runs this season, scoring 173 runs in seven matches in the first leg of the IPL 2021. Meanwhile, Yadav, who debuted in the T20I series against England this year, has scored 89 runs in three matches.

Dhawan said, “This one-day match is very important to us. It is very small and we would love to do that. All players should get a chance to represent their country and showcase their talent and skills. We have also decided on a partner and team, which we will reveal tomorrow.
