Former India captain Sunil Gavaskar has advised Team India captain Virat Kohli to resume his opener with Rohit Sharma in T20. He said the team’s best batsmen should bat more in limited overs. Sachin Tendulkar also gave an example of how Gavaskar’s batting has made a difference to the entire team. Virat started with Rohit Sharma in the fifth T20 against England and added 94 runs in 9 overs for the first wicket.

Speaking to India Today, Sunil Gavaskar said, “Your best batsman should play more balls in limited overs. So it is very important that Virat Kohli plays in the top order. Maybe K.L. Losing Rahul’s farm is a boon in the worst of times, because it gave us the initial combination and we can move on with it. “KL Rahul was supported by Team India in the first four T20 matches, but he failed miserably in four innings. Rahul scored a total of 15 runs in four innings and was later dropped from the team in the fifth.
