Members of the Indian women’s cricket team have begun arriving in Bangalore for a training camp ahead of their tour of Australia in September-October. The tour teams have not been announced yet, but about 30 cricketers have been advised to reach Bangalore by Tuesday evening. Players begin training after six days of carantine. Harmanpreet Kaur, Smriti Mandhana, Jemima Rodriguez, Deepti Sharma and Shefali Verma, who are playing in the ‘The Hundred’ tournament in England, are due to travel to Australia later this month and have been asked to join the national team in Bangalore by August 22. It must also face a six-day quarantine before this happens. The ‘The Hundred’ tournament will run until August 21st.

After this, the team is likely to get approved for the next seven days of training, with their quarantine completed. It will be another major tour to India after the England tour. India are preparing for the one-day World Cup in New Zealand early next year.

The biggest challenge of the Pink Ball Test tour for the Indian team at the WACA in Perth is that the women’s team does not even play the red ball in domestic cricket.
