Indian tennis player Sumit Nagel is expected to take the top-10 in the first round of the Australian Open in Melbourne, but he will play against Lithuanian Ricardes Berankis on Friday’s draw. This is Nagel’s second clash in the second week against the world number 72 player.
He lost to the Lithuanian player earlier this week in the preparations for the Australian Open. If Nagle crosses the first-round hurdle, he will face either wild-card Indian 19th-seeded Russian Karen Khachanov or local wild card-holder Alexander Wukich.
Nogal, ranked 139th in the world, will take part in the Grand Slam Men’s Singles for the third time. He has played twice at the US Open (2019, 2020). But Ankita Raina couldn’t make the women’s singles cut. In the men’s doubles, Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan will play with their partners.
Serena Williams, semifinalist due to injury, this player got a place in the final
