IPL 2021, CSK vs. DC: Rishabh Pant will face Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s challenge

In the second game of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League, the Delhi Capitals will face three-time champions Chennai Super Kings. The match will be played at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium. If Delhi were to make it to the finals in last season, Chennai failed to secure a place in the playoffs for the first time in IPL history. However, this time both teams look pretty balanced on paper. Delhi will be without their fast bowlers Kagiso Rabada and Enrich Norteje in the first match, with Shreyas Iyer, who captained the team last season, unavailable for the entire season. Lungi Angidi does not appear in this match for Chennai.

Delhi will lose fast bowlers

The Delhi Capitals will miss their key players Kagiso Rabada and Enrich Nortje in the first match against Chennai Super Kings. Rabada and Nortje are currently serving their quarantine for seven days and will not be available for the match. But, despite this, the team has two experienced fast bowlers – Ishaan Sharma and Umesh Yadav. The team is very strong with Steve Smith’s introduction in batting. Prithvi Shah has recently made huge strides in domestic cricket. Captain Rishabh Pant and Shikhar Dhawan will have a big responsibility in the opening matches. In the absence of Rabada, Chris Vox could be ranked in eleven playing. The team expects a strong showing by Marcus Stonis this season.

Chennai Super Kings desperate to return

Chennai Super Kings are all set to make a splash in IPL 2021. The team has got an experienced opener in the form of Robin Uthappa at bat. With the return of Suresh Raina, the team’s top order seems to be quite balanced against last year’s match. However, the performance of skipper Dhoni, who poured out sixes during the practice session, will be eye-catching. Poojara’s chances in the first game are very low. Faf Duplessi, Sam Karan and Ravindra Jadeja performed well in IPL 202. Bowling is the consolation news for Shardul Thakur’s latest farm team. The spin section can go with Moeen Ali and Karn Sharma.

Possibility of playing in the Delhi Capitals XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shah, Steve Smith, Rishabh Pant, Shimran Hetmeier, Marcus Stonis, R Ashwin, Chris Vox, Umesh Yadav, Ishaat Sharma, Amit Mishra.

The possibility of Chennai Super Kings playing XI: Rituraj Gaekwad / Robin Uthappa, Faf Duplessi, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Moin Ali, Sam Karan, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar.
