Former India batsman Praveen Tamre has been appointed as the team’s assistant coach for the next two years by IPL franchise Delhi Capitals. Speaking about Praveen Amre’s international career, he has played 11 Tests and 37 ODIs for Team India. He scored 425 runs with a century and three fifties in Tests and 513 runs with two fifties in ODIs. He was unlucky in ODIs and never scored a century with his bat in this format as a Test. Amre is remembered for scoring a century against South Africa in the first Test.

Praveen Amre has been more successful in cricket coaching than his batting. Under his guidance, Mumbai won the Ranji Trophy. He has also worked with American cricket as a batting consultant. He is also the personal trainer of many international cricketers in India.
