IPL 2021: Leg spinner Amit Mishra is working hard on his new role as coach

Amit Mishra, senior leg-spinner at Delhi Capitals, said on Wednesday that he is working on improving his batting before the upcoming Indian Premier League and preparing himself for situations where he should use his bat. Some members of the Delhi Capitals team gathered at the Cricket Club of India on Tuesday for their first practice session in Mumbai. Mishra said everyone looked great during the practice period.

Mishra said, ‘All the players are looking good on the field here. They are all ready to work hard and it is nice to see young people working hard too. The 38-year-old said he was focused on improving his batting, in addition to sharpening his bowling. He said, ‘I am also working on my batting. The coaches have asked me to practice batting, as there may be situations when I have to play 25 to 30 runs.

He said, ‘We have to be ready for every situation. If I’m batting with a batsman, I have to give the strike to my partner with a run. Players will have to practice after a week of carantine before the 14th stage of the breathtaking league starting April 9. Senior batsman Ajinkya Rahane said, “I will bat for the first time in 20 days. We practiced a seven-day quarantine, so I tried to get into the rhythm. “As we get closer to the tournament, it’s important to keep a good rhythm,” he said.
