IPL 2021 Orange and Purple Cap Updates: Nitish Rana Highest Run, Harshal Patel Leaving Andre Russell in Purple Cap Race

The Indian Premier League (IPL) has played a total of six matches so far in 2021. After six matches, Kolkata Knight Riders batsman Nitish Rana is leading the Orange Cap race. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Manish Pandey and Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Glenn Maxwell are top-5. Maxwell scored 59 in a match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 14 and was named Man of the Match. Manish Pandey contributed 38 runs. The player who has scored the most runs in the IPL will be awarded with the Orange Cap and the Purple Cap.

Speaking of bowlers, Herschel Patel picked up five wickets in the first match against Mumbai Indians and picked up two wickets for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second match. He leads the Purple Cap race with seven wickets. Andre Russell is second with six wickets. Sunrisers Hyderabad spinner Rasheed Khan has entered the top-5. He took two wickets against RCB and also took two wickets in the first match. He thus finished third in this race with four wickets.
