The country’s leading sports utility vehicle manufacturer Mahindra was hitting the famous SUV Alturas G4 last month. Although the company released this SUV with high expectations almost 3 years ago, current sales figures are slowing the pace of sales of this SUV. According to reports, the company sold only 9 units of this SUV last December.
Let us know that the company has launched its new Mahindra Alturas G4 in the domestic market in 2018. This is the most important model the company offers in the market. But it couldn’t do anything special in the market, and its sales in front of the Toyota Fortuner are considered to be the most important in the segment.
In fact, it is a redesigned version of South Korean automaker Songyang’s famous model Rexton G4. The SUV, which is decorated with a powerful engine and attractive looks, was not as good as customers expected. In April last year, production of the new BS6 version of the company’s SUV began at the plant in Chakan.
In terms of sales, the company sold just nine units of the new Mahindra Alturas G4 last December. A total of 123 units were sold in the same month last year. On the other hand, a total of 584 units of Fortuner and 458 units of Gloucester were sold in December.
According to media reports, the company may soon discontinue its Alturas G4. Currently, the company has over 500 units of this SUV in refining units. Mahindra has made it clear that it will not invest much in this Korean subsidiary. Due to the ever-declining demand, the company may disconnect its SUV. Its current price ranges from Rs 28.73 lakh to Rs 31.70 lakh.
The Mahindra Alturas G4 uses a 2.2-liter diesel engine that produces 178bhp and 420Nm of torque. It features a 7-speed torque converter automatic transmission gearbox, sourced from Mercedes-Benz. As for features, the SUV features an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, multi-function steering wheel, 7-inch colored TFT instrument cluster, powered tailgate, 18-inch alloy wheel.
