Mahindra, the country’s leading automaker, today announced the launch of its new Sport Utility Vehicle XUV 700 in the domestic market. The company has announced the launch of its upcoming SUV through social media. Mahindra says it will set a new benchmark in terms of technology and features in the new SUV segment.
Experts believe the new SUV will be between the current model XUV500 and the Alturas G4 in the company’s vehicle portfolio. According to Mahindra, this SUV will have new world class features and will be launched in the market with petrol and diesel engine options. It features both manual and automatic transmission gearboxes, which are common in all SUVs today. It will also be released with the All Wheel Drive (AWD) system.

The current model of this SUV is longer and wider than the XUV 500, which also provides better cabin space inside the SUV. Mahindra’s new SUV is based on the Global Platform (W601), featuring the most advanced features and technology. It will be provided with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS), Panaromic Sunroof and Large Touchscreen Infotainment System.
Engine capacity:
The company has not yet shared any information about its engine and other procedures. But experts say the company could use a 2.2-liter diesel and a 2.0-liter petrol engine. The engine is fitted with a 6-speed manual and torque converter automatic transmission gearbox.
When does the SUV start:
However, the company has announced that it will be launching this SUV in the market and has not given any details on its release date. According to media reports, if everything goes well, the company could release it to the market by October this year. The company is currently working on this project fast. The SUV is being manufactured at the plant in Chakan, Maharashtra.
