Maruti Suzuki boosts CNG cars market, the company has sold more than 1.5 lakh cars, 32 km mileage

As petrol and diesel prices continue to rise, people are constantly moving towards other options. Country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki has announced its highest ever CNG sales in the financial year 2020-21. According to the report, between April and March 2021, the company sold 1.57 lakh factory-fitted CNG cars.

Let me tell you, the CNG cars installed in the company’s factory range from the Alto to the Celeria, WagonR, S-Preso, Eco, Ertiga, Tour S and Super Carry. The company has been expanding its portfolio of CNG cars for the past two years. The company claims that it has sold the largest number of CNG cars ever sold.

While Maruti Suzuki uses SCNG technology in its cars, most people are convinced of the Maruti CNG cars due to the kits the company adopts. Generally, CNG kits found in the market are not that safe. In addition, the company offers more models with CNG kits, giving consumers more options. In general, Maruti’s CNG cars offer mileage up to 32 km / h.

Looking at the figures, Maruti Suzuki sold 73,907 units of CNG cars in fiscal year 2016-17. During the same period, the company sold 1,06,444 units of CNG cars. Maruti Suzuki’s CNG car portfolio starts at Rs 4.37 lakh from Alto CNG, while S-Presso’s CNG variant starts at Rs 4.83 lakh.
