Meeting of Reserve Bank of india Monetary Policy Committee from 7 to 9 October

With the appointment of three members to the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) on behalf of the government, the Reserve Bank on Tuesday said that the next meeting of the committee will start from October 7. The Reserve Bank of India postponed the MPC meeting on 28 September. The meeting was postponed due to the delay in the appointment of independent members to the committee.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Reserve Bank said that the next meeting of the Monetary Policy Committee has been fixed on 7 to 9 October 2020. The government has appointed three members in the MPC. Three noted economists Ashima Goyal, Jayant R Verma and Shashank Bhide have been appointed as members of the MPC.

These members have been appointed in place of Chetan Ghate, Pami Dua, Ravindra Dholakia. He was appointed on 29 September 2016 in MPC for four years.
