7,000 per acre will be available
If the Haryana government wants to protect groundwater through this scheme, it is encouraging farmers to produce other crops. The state government has said that if farmers produce crops like maize, tur, urad, cotton, bajra and moong instead of traditional paddy, they will be given Rs 7,000. This amount is being paid on an acre basis. In addition, subsidy for micro irrigation up to 80% will also be provided.
Deadline is near
The government made the plan on 6 May 2020. In such a situation, if you (the people of Haryana) want to take advantage of this scheme, register by July 31st. According to the state government’s Department of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, only those who register themselves by July 31 will benefit from the scheme.

Eligibility for the ‘Mera Pani Meri Virasat’ project
1- The beneficiary must be a permanent resident of Haryana.
Such farmers who are using an electric motor of 2- 50 hertz power will not benefit from this project.
3- Farmers need to diversify 50 percent of their previous year’s paddy production.
4- Must have an active bank account linked to Aadhaar number.
