MG Motor has released its first electric SUV engine in the Indian market. According to a report published in ET, the company’s president and managing director Rajiv Haba confirmed this. According to the report, the company has already begun working on the battery assembly facility used in the car. The battery is manufactured in India so that it can keep the car price low.

Currently, work on the facility is underway, with an initial cost of about Rs 4,000 crore. It is said that the company is developing a battery that can provide a range of up to 500 km on a single charge. The company is also working on a specific technology for this.
However, nothing specific about the upcoming MG Motor new electric car has been shared. The company’s ZDS electric car is currently available for sale in the Indian market. Last year, the company sold a total of 1,142 units of this SUV. The company aims to double the sales of this SUV this year. According to Rajiv Haba, the company had reserved 200 of its units in December last year.
However, the company uses a 44.5 kW lithium-ion battery pack in the SDS Electric SUV. The given electric motor produces 143 PS and 353 Nm of torque. The company claims that this electric car delivers a range of up to 340 kilometers on a single charge. Its price ranges from Rs 20.88 lakh to Rs 23.58 lakh.
Experts believe the company may also introduce cheaper versions of its ZS electric SUV in the future. Its price may be less than Rs 20 lakh. In addition, the company’s new local facility helps keep the price of the upcoming car down to a minimum. However, the company has not shared any official information about the car.
