Mumbai: Police have filed a case against senior actor Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahakshe and ex-wife Yogita Bali on charges of rape and cheating on a woman, an official said on Saturday. He said the case was lodged at the Oshiwara police station on Thursday night based on a complaint by a 38-year-old woman.
“She was associated with Mahakshi Chakraborty from 2015 to 2018 and during that period he promised to marry her,” the official said.
“She said that during her relationship, she went to see Mahaksha’s flat in Adarsh west of Andheri West, which she bought in 2015. When she went there, the accused offered her a tantalizing cold drink and urged her to have physical contact with him,” he said.
“When the woman became pregnant, Mahakshay asked her to have an abortion for the baby and gave him the pills,” he said.
“The woman said she had been asking Mahakshi about their marriage. But in January 2018, he said he could not marry her, which led to an altercation between them. When she called him, his mother Yogita Bali threatened.” Said the officer.
The complainant then went to Delhi with his brother to be with his family friend. There, he filed a complaint against Mahakshe and his mother, Yogita Bali, at Begampur police station in June 2018, he said.
The police had registered the offense under Section 376 (rape), 313 (causing abortion without the consent of the woman) and others and the investigation was transferred to the crime branch. The Delhi court granted anticipatory bail to Mahakshe and her mother in the case.
In March 2020, the Delhi High Court asked the court to file its complaint with the woman. Behind it, he lodged a complaint at the Oshiwara Police Station in July this year, the official said.
“Accordingly, the IPC has registered against the accused persons under Section 376 (rape), 376 (2) (n) (repeated rape), 328 (inflicting pain by poison), 417 (fraud), 506 (criminal threat) and 34 (general purpose). “That said, the investigation is ongoing.
Mahakshay has appeared in some films like Haunted 3D and Looty.
