The serial begins with Kartik telling his grandmother that he has recruited a girl (Shakti) who sang with her during the temple concert. Grandma is happy Vila Kadambari, Shruti and Kadambari Amma, Rukmani are unhappy. Praising the power of Kartik. He says he has found his address and sent a letter of appointment. Grandma asks the girl when she will be brought to Chennai.
