Explosive player Glenn Maxwell of Australia, who could not hit a single six in the last season of the IPL, has been given a big blow by Kings XI Punjab. Punjab has released Maxwell before the auction for the 14th season of IPL (IPL 2021). Punjab released nine players, including Maxwell, while retaining 16 players including captain KL Rahul, opener Mayank Agarwal, Chris Gayle. The bowling retained Mohammed Shami and Chris Jordan, besides spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Murugan Ashwin.
In the 13th season of the IPL played in the UAE, Maxwell did not show anything special. His bat was also very quiet. Even Maxwell, who often rained sixes, could not hit a single six in the entire season. Australian all rounder Maxwell was bought again by Kings XI Punjab.
