Mushfiqur Rahim named as ICC Cricketer of the Year for Sri Lanka

Bangladesh wicketkeeper batsman Mushfiqur Rahim has been selected as the ICC Player of the Month for his performance in the ODI series against Sri Lanka. Apart from Rahim, Pakistan’s fast bowler Hasan Ali and Sri Lanka’s Praveen Jayawickrama have been selected for the award by the International Cricket Council (ICC). Bangladesh won the one-day series against Sri Lanka for the first time, based on Mushfiqur Rahim’s impressive batting.

Mushfiqur Rahim scored 237 runs at an average of 79 in the three-match series. This time he scored a century and a half. Fast bowler Hasan Ali, who was nominated for the award, also performed well and he took 14 wickets in the Test series against Zimbabwe. At the same time, Praveen was instrumental in Sri Lanka’s victory in the Test series against Bangladesh. Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 209 runs in the second Test against Praveen Sharma.
