National Innovation Competition: Karnataka tops the list with 15 awards – Ashwaththa Narayana

Bangalore: Deputy Chief Minister of Information Technology, Biotechnology and Science and Technology, Dr CNN Ashwaththa Narayana said that the recent competition from the “Innovation India” for the National Innovation Awards was the highest number of applications received from Karnataka.

Out of the 36 innovations that have been awarded nationally, 14 are in the state and 1 in the accelerator, DCM said.

Out of the 1641 applications submitted by innovators from across the country, 418 applications were submitted from Karnataka. This is one per cent of the total submissions. Ashwaththa Narayana said that 26 is a significant factor.

A large number of applications have been filed in sectors including agriculture, education, energy, technology, healthcare, industry 4.0, space, tourism, urban services and so on. He explained that out of the 14 nationally successful enterprises, 11 innovations have now been selected and won in the Elevate / Idea 2 POC grant program conducted by Karnataka Innovation Cell.
