German auto major Audi today unveiled its iconic S5 Sportback luxury sedan in the Indian market. Launched with attractive sporty look and strong engine capabilities, the car was initially priced at Rs 79.06 lakh. (Ex-showroom, Pan India). The car will fill the gap between the company’s A5 sedan and the Performance Model RS5 and compete with the BMW M340 i in the market for powerful features.
In fact, this is an updated version of the S5 Sportback introduced in the Indian market in 2017. The company has made many major changes to the interior of this car, from the previous model. The car gets a new front bumper, new frame grille and Matrix LED headlamp and daytime running lights. At the same time, the rear of the car has an attractive sporty bumper with new taillights. The car is offered in a total of 8 colors with 19-inch alloy wheels including Turbo Blue, Daytona Gray and Tango Red.
Interior: The company has also updated the interior of the new S5 Sportback. One of the biggest changes to the cabin is the 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system that replaces the previous MMI display. In addition, a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit digital instrument cluster is also included. Leather upholstery, panoramic sunroof, powered front seat, ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, head-up display and 19 speakers.
Engine capacity: As for the engine, the car comes with a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine on the global market. On the Indian model, however, the company offers a 3.0-liter turbo petrol V6 engine that produces 354 hp of power and 500 Nm of torque. Equipped with an 8-speed automatic gearbox, the car accelerates from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 4.8 seconds. The top speed of this car is 250 km per hour, which is limited.
The Audi S5 also offers different driving modes, including Sportback Comfort, Dynamic, Individual and Auto. Drivers can choose any of these modes to their advantage. The car has been launched as a Complete Built Unit (CBU) which will take the BMW M340 i and Mercedes-AMG C43 to the Indian market.
