Rajasthan Petroleum Merchants Association (SGU) on Saturday announced a one-day strike in protest against the unexpected VAT hike on petrol and diesel. According to the association, the agency is scheduled to launch an indefinite strike on Saturday and April 25. State petrol pumps will not buy and sell any kind of petrol pumps from 6 am to 12 noon on Saturday. About 7000 petrol pumps in the state will be closed during this time.

About 30 million liters of petrol and diesel sales are expected to be affected by the strike. This would give the government Rs 34 crore.
